The Case For Faith
A Journalist Investigates the Toughest Objections to Christianity
The Case For Faith is Lee Strobel’s follow up to The Case For Christ. After looking at the evidence concerning Jesus Christ Lee Strobel examines the tough questions about Christianity.
Like The Case For Christ this book is excellent. Maybe it is because I like to know the story behind the story or I’m just a curious person but learning more of the background about Christianity is very interesting to me. Not to mention, these are some tough questions. This is a good book to keep handy.
Although the tough questions cannot be answered with 100% certainty, the interviews Lee Strobel documents in the book go a long way to helping us understand them more fully.
The back cover of the book states: “In The Case for Faith, Strobel turns his tenacious investigative skills to the most persistent emotional objections to belief – the eight “heart” barriers to faith. The Case for Faith is for those who may be feeling attracted to Jesus but who are faced with intellectual barriers standing squarely in their path. For Christians, it will deepen their convictions and give them fresh confidence in discussing Christianity with even their most skeptical friends.”
The beginning of the book talks about Charles Templeton who was a former evangelist and friend of Billy Graham. The story and interview with Mr. Templeton is very good, a look into the heart of a former believer turned doubter. These few pages alone make this book worth the read.
The eight “heart” barriers to faith are the names of the chapters and are listed below.
