Seven Things That Steal Your Joy
Overcoming The Obstacles To Your HappinessSeven Things That Steal Your Joy is written by Joyce Meyer. Although Joyce Meyer has written over 50 inspirational books this is the first that I have read. The inside leaf states, “Over and over again in the Old and New Testaments, we are told to lift up our hearts and sing. But do you find yourself worrying your days away? Do you get angry more often than you laugh? Do you want to be happier but feel overwhelmed by sorrow? The power of joy can change that.” Seven Things That Steal Your Joy gives seven things that steal your joy and then Joyce Meyer gives the answer to these obstacles of joy guiding you to reclaim your joy. Each of these joy givers is biblically based and Joyce also gives personal examples that help further explain her points. I’ll say that this book wasn’t a book where I couldn’t wait to see what was on the next page, but it is a good solid scripture based book that can help you reclaim joy in your life. This book could be the answer through scripture that you are looking for if you are struggling with happiness. This book is also a good reminder for all of us that God intends for us to lead joy filled lives and that alone makes this book worthwhile to read. If you are having trouble with happiness or if you would like a reminder of God’s intentions for us then this is a good book to read. Be not grieved and depressed, for the joy of the Lord is your strength and stronghold. Nehemiah 8:10 The chapters include: Two Choices: Works or Grace?
