When God Whispers Your Name
When God Whispers Your Name was written by Max Lucado.
The inside cover states, “Somewhere between the pages of this book and the pages of your heart, God whispers your name. Find that hard to believe? To imagine that the One who made it all keeps your name in His heart and on His lips?
He knows your name. In fact, your name is written on the hand of God (Isaiah 49:16).”
This book consists of 28 short chapters that all talk about God’s communication with us, but each chapter is separate and different. Each chapter tells its own story the way Max Lucado combines Biblical scripture and principles along with story telling.
One of my favorite chapters was The Gift of Unhappiness. A quote from this chapter, “Lower your expectations of earth. This is not heaven, so don’t expect it to be. There will never be a newscast with no bad news. There will never be a church with no gossip or competition. There will never be a new car, new wife, or new baby who can give you the joy your heart craves. Only God can.
And God will. Be patient. And be listening.”
When God Whispers Your Name was a good book that will remind you to listen for the whisper of God.
